RESEARCHERS

Our lab focuses on evolution and behavior. Our current main projects are examining the role of color and song on reproductive isolation and speciation in the White breasted kingfisher. Looking for new methods in controlling the invasive nutria population, using our behavioral ecology knowledge. On a quest to find the unknown magnetic sensor of animals, focusing on the symbiotic magnetic sensing hypothesis.
BEHAVIORAL ECOLOGY
Dr. Yoni Vortman
Ecology and Magnetotactism

Our lab investigates a wide range of species interactions, spanning vertebrates, arthropods and microbes, through both ecological and evolutionary lenses. We seek to understand which species interact with each other and how these interactions impact the distribution and abundance of animals and the functioning of ecological communities. Our research utilizes approaches ranging from field experiments to advanced molecular techniques.
MOLECULAR ECOLOGY
Dr. Tali Sara Berman
Ecology of Species Interaction

I study the ecology and behavior of wild animals, especially mammals. I focus on freshwater ecosystems, leading a giant otter conservation project in the Peruvian Amazon and, as part of the Hula Valley Research Center, studies on nutrient dynamics and mammal communities in northern Israel.
BEHAVIORAL ECOLOGY
Dr. Adi Barocas
Carnivore Ecology in Dynamic Landscapes

Our lab focuses on the agricultural and environmental issues of Hula valley and its surrounding area. Our current research involves the subjects of Phosphorus contribution to water bodies and in the Hula valley soils and precision agriculture.
ENVIRONMENT AND AGRICULTURE
Dr. Oren Reichman
Hydrogeology and Examination of Soil Fertility

Our lab Research Interests include:
Speech and Audio Signal Processing and Analysis,
Speech and Voice Perception,
Biological Signal Processing, Bioacoustics,
Machine Learning for Audio Signal Processing,
Scientific Computing.
COMPUTER SCIENCE
Prof. Yizhar Lavner

Dr. Tal is a senior clinical lecturer and the
head of the Small Animal Theriogenology department at the Koret
School of Veterinary Medicine. Her current areas of research are pregnancy and the periparturient
period in the dog (mainly fetal fluid) and in canine neonates, focusing
on fading puppy syndrome. She studies wildlife reproduction as a
platform for species conservation, mainly in the Eurasian otter and
Assisted Reproductive Techniques in bats.
